On Nelson Mandela Day 2024, Walking The Talk Foundation (WTTF) embarked on a journey of giving back and making a difference in underprivileged schools.
Gillitts Primary School
The day began at 8:00 AM at Gillitts Primary School. Joining WTTF was the incredible team from ONOMO Hotel, and together with the students of Gillitts Primary, we worked to establish a vibrant vegetable garden. Under the warm winter sun, we prepared the garden and planted various seeds, symbolizing hope and growth for the future.
In addition to the garden project, WTTF proudly donated a 65-inch StarBoard Interactive Panel to Gillitts Primary earlier in 2024, ensuring students have access to innovative learning tools. To conclude our visit, we handed out food hampers to the Ground Phase students, spreading joy and ensuring their families had essentials to take home.
Vumalethu Secondary School
Next, we headed to Vumalethu Secondary School, where we partnered with The Smart Idea Group to deliver a printer, enhancing their administrative and learning capabilities. We also distributed donations of Jockey underwear, SOX footwear, and Twizza cool drinks, making the day extra special for the students.
Durban School for the Hearing Impaired
Our next stop was the Durban School for the Hearing Impaired, where we continued our mission of support by delivering Jockey underwear and SOX footwear for the students.
Mason Lincoln Special School
The day concluded with a heartfelt visit to Mason Lincoln Special School, where we provided an A3 Laminator, courtesy of Charmaine. Additionally, we delivered Jockey underwear, SOX footwear, and 6 pairs of running shoes, generously sponsored by Salomon, to three talented athletes with disabilities.
